UNIMA CONGRESS 2025 UNIMA en Corée du Sud/South Korea
 | Bonjour UNIMA CANADA, Je suis heureux de vous informer que je participerai au 24ème Congrès d'UNIMA en Corée du Sud du 23 mai au 1ier juin 2025. Effectivement, je participerai en tant "qu'intervenant invité", pour le Symposium UNIMA 2025 en prononçant une conférence, et je donnerai 2 ateliers pendant la durée du Congrès; Le premier de 10 heures, les 25 et 26 mai pour les marionnettistes coréens et internationaux et le deuxième,de 5 heures: "Sous observation" pour un groupe de personnes âgées de Séoul. En janvier, Coucou de Graham Soul s’est envolé à la Maison de la culture du Plateau-Mont-Royal* à Montréal et au Centre communautaire de Blainville. Le 20 février, Graham a fait une Présentation Express sur Coucou à l’événement RIDEAU à Québec, devant les diffuseur∙ses des arts de la scène de la francophonie, surtout du Québec et du Canada.
In January, Coucou by Graham Soul flew to the Maison de la culture du Plateau-Mont-Royal* in Montreal and to the Centre communautaire de Blainville. On February 20, Graham made an Express Presentation about Coucou at the RIDEAU showcase in Quebec City for Francophone performing arts presenters, mostly from Quebec and Canada.

La première européenne de Cosmo, la nouvelle coproduction du Théâtre Motus et de Núbila Teatro (Mexico), verra le jour dans le cadre de la programmation officielle du festival Teatralia. Le public madrilène aura l'opportunité de rencontrer nos deux tisseuses de temps.
Le 2 avril 2025, à la RTA et dans le cadre de son festival pour ados, Motus présentera une lecture publique de sa nouvelle pièce en cours de création, Le Sanctuaire des âmes ordinaires. Une étape qui viendra nourrir les réflexions autour du texte et des personnages de son autrice et metteuse en scène Mathilde Addy-Laird, codirectrice artistique de Motus.
Arbre, tout un monde continuera à enchanter les publics québécois avec plusieurs représentations dans différentes Maisons de la culture de Montréal, à Côté Scène (Sherbrooke) ainsi qu'au Jardin botanique de Montréal. En mai, notre belle équipe ira à la rencontre du public ontarien : à Sainte-Catharines (Niagara Children's Festival), à Toronto (au WeeFestival), puis à Hamilton (Arts for All).
Enfin, notre coproduction Parole d'eau (Burkina Faso - Canada - Sénégal), reviendra au Québec pour de nouvelles représentations à Sherbrooke (Côté Scène), à Outremont (Théâtre Outremont) et à Saint-Jérôme (Diffusion en Scène).

This step will nourish the reflections around the text and characters of its author and director Mathilde Addy-Laird, co-artistic director of Motus.
Tree, a world in itself will continue to enchant Quebec audiences with several performances in various Maisons de la culture in Montreal, at Côté Scène (Sherbrooke), and at the Montreal Botanical Garden. In May, our wonderful team will meet the Ontario public: in Sainte-Catharines (Niagara Children's Festival), in Toronto (at the WeeFestival), and in Hamilton (Arts for All).
Finally, our co-production Water words (Burkina Faso - Canada - Senegal) will return to Quebec for new performances in Sherbrooke (Côté Scène), in Outremont (Théâtre Outremont), and in Saint-Jérôme (Diffusion en Scène).

 En janvier dernier, les grandes premières de notre nouvelle création Ce que cache la forêt ont eu lieu à la Maison de la culture Janine-Sutto (Montréal). Ces représentations familiales et scolaires ont été un franc succès. La prochaine représentation du spectacle est prévue le 23 mars 2025 à 15h00 à la salle Albert-Dumouchel (Valspec). An increasing number of theatre artists, including some UNIMA members, have availed of the mentoring opportunities associated with the Mermaid Theatre’s Artist Loft during the past several years. In-kind investment by Mermaid, and staff, covers the use of space and mentoring, on all aspects of object-theatre creation including: puppet performance and construction; play development; dramaturgy; organizational planning; and touring. Recent participants include: Joanie Papillon (Montreal, QU); Aurora Scott and Stuart Hyduk (Wolfville, NS); Tiphaine Girault-Bath (Gatineau, QU), Ella MacDonald and Emma James (Halifax, NS); Rachel Lloyd and Laura Stinson (Halifax, NS); Kathleen Doyle (New York City, NY, USA); Jennifer Marlow (Shubenacadie, NS); Tucker Knight (Colorado, USA); Ken Flett (Bear River, NS); Anika Lirette and AJ LaPlante (Halifax, NS); and Snow Dobblelsteyn (Halifax, NS).  | Puppet and shadow theatre artist Michael Rigler is designing new lighting and shadow worlds for partner Tara Manuel’s upcoming political puppetry show; For All the Premiers I’ve Loved Before (debut March 22, 2025 at the Corner Brook Arts and Culture Centre). The piece features Direction & Dramaturgy by Lois Brown, Assistant Direction & Choreography by Candice Barry, with supporting puppetry performance by Tara and Michael's youngest son, Sam Rigler. SpringWorks~PuppetWorks! will be conducting our first creation workshop for a giant, all-seasons parade puppet! The Giant Parade Puppet Creation Workshop will offer artists & students the opportunity to learn valuable building & animation skills, strengthening Stratford as a locale for professional puppetry arts training.
Partnering with the Stratford Film Festival, we will screen the powerful documentary Iniskim: Return of the Buf alo, a film that uses puppetry to explore Indigenous ways of knowing and the story of the Buffalo’s return to the steppes of the Canadian Rockies as part of our 2025 Fall Season.
Summertime brings the return of our flagship offering, World in a Weekend: International Puppet Festival, from July 31 - August 4, in Stratford, Ontario. Join us for our fourth annual iteration of this festival as we celebrate the magic of puppetry!

DiSCoVeR Presentation Series in Waterloo Region, Ontario - Cosmic Fishing Theatre

March 23-28 & April 17-20, 2025
Cosmic Fishing Theatre is gearing up to celebrate their 10-year
anniversary by bringing professional theatre and performance,
filled with puppetry and object theatre, to the Waterloo Region,
for young and very young audiences and their caregivers to enjoy
– together.
This is a new series for the region, where children ages 0-8 and
their favourite adults will become its first explorers, and be
immersed in contemporary performances, workshops, and interactive activities.
DiSCoVeR is helping bring back Tricoter and Tricoter (Bébé) by Foolish Operations from Vancouver to Ontario this March 27 and 28. It will be a sweet celebration of World Puppetry Day, World Theatre Day for Children and Young People and World Theatre Day, in the most playful way - with babies and tots. Then, over the Easter long weekend, DiSCoVeR will welcome A Carousel Players Production Pop!Pop! from the Niagara Region. It is a show that explores a puppetry world set within a coral reef and interacts with preschool and kindergarten aged children. The same weekend of fun will share the stage with Puppets and Shadows Theatre, and a storytelling performance titled, Choose Your Own Puppet Adventure, that will immerse children in SK-Grade 2 and older, in the beauty and possibilities of shadow puppetry.

Le Cosmic Fishing Theatre se prépare à célébrer son 10e
anniversaire en proposant du théâtre et des performances
professionnels, remplis de théâtre de marionnettes et d'objets,
dans la région de Waterloo, pour que les jeunes et très jeunes
publics et leurs soignants puissent en profiter – ensemble.
Il s'agit d'une nouvelle série pour la région, où les enfants âgés de
0 à 8 ans et leurs adultes préférés deviendront ses premiers
explorateurs et seront immergés dans des spectacles
contemporains, des ateliers et des activités interactives.
DiSCoVeR aide à ramener Tricoter et Tricoter (Bébé) de Foolish Operations de Vancouver en Ontario les 27 et 28 mars. Ce sera une douce célébration de la Journée mondiale de la marionnette, de la Journée mondiale du théâtre pour les enfants et les jeunes et de la Journée mondiale du théâtre, de la manière la plus ludique - avec les bébés et les tout-petits. Ensuite, pendant le long week-end de Pâques, DiSCoVeR accueillera A Carousel Players Production Pop!Pop! de la région de Niagara. Il s'agit d'un spectacle qui explore un monde de marionnettes se déroulant dans un récif de corail et interagit avec des enfants d'âge préscolaire et préscolaire. Le même week-end de divertissement partagera la scène avec le théâtre de marionnettes et d'ombres, ainsi qu'un spectacle de contes intitulé Choisissez votre propre aventure de marionnettes, qui plongera les enfants de la 2e année de SK et des plus âgés dans la beauté et les possibilités du théâtre d'ombres.

DiSCoVeR Presentation Series in Waterloo Region, Ontario - Cosmic Fishing Theatre
Let's build a community of imagination!
March 23-28 & April 17-20, 2025
Cosmic Fishing Theatre is gearing up to celebrate their 10-year
anniversary by bringing professional theatre and performance,
filled with puppetry and object theatre, to the Waterloo Region,
for young and very young audiences and their caregivers to enjoy
– together.
This is a new series for the region, where children ages 0-8 and
their favourite adults will become its first explorers, and be
immersed in contemporary performances, workshops, and interactive activities.
DiSCoVeR is helping bring back Tricoter and Tricoter (Bébé) by Foolish Operations from Vancouver to Ontario this March 27 and 28. It will be a sweet celebration of World Puppetry Day, World Theatre Day for Children and Young People and World Theatre Day, in the most playful way - with babies and tots. Then, over the Easter long weekend, DiSCoVeR will welcome A Carousel Players Production Pop!Pop! from the Niagara Region. It is a show that explores a puppetry world set within a coral reef and interacts with preschool and kindergarten aged children. The same weekend of fun will share the stage with Puppets and Shadows Theatre, and a storytelling performance titled, Choose Your Own Puppet Adventure, that will immerse children in SK-Grade 2 and older, in the beauty and possibilities of shadow puppetry.

SpringWorks~PuppetWorks! animera notre premier atelier de création d'une marionnette géante de défilé toutes saisons ! L'atelier de création de marionnettes géantes offrira aux artistes et aux étudiants l'opportunité d'acquérir de précieuses compétences en construction et en animation, renforçant ainsi Stratford en tant que lieu de formation professionnelle en arts de la marionnette.
En partenariat avec le Festival du film de Stratford, nous projetterons le puissant documentaire Iniskim : Le retour du buffle, un film qui utilise les marionnettes pour explorer les modes de connaissance autochtones et l'histoire du retour du buffle dans les steppes des Rocheuses canadiennes dans le cadre de notre saison d'automne 2025.

Le Cosmic Fishing Theatre se prépare à célébrer son 10e
anniversaire en proposant du théâtre et des performances
professionnels, remplis de théâtre de marionnettes et d'objets,
dans la région de Waterloo, pour que les jeunes et très jeunes
publics et leurs soignants puissent en profiter – ensemble.
Il s'agit d'une nouvelle série pour la région, où les enfants âgés de
0 à 8 ans et leurs adultes préférés deviendront ses premiers
explorateurs et seront immergés dans des spectacles
contemporains, des ateliers et des activités interactives.
DiSCoVeR aide à ramener Tricoter et Tricoter (Bébé) de Foolish Operations de Vancouver en Ontario les 27 et 28 mars. Ce sera une douce célébration de la Journée mondiale de la marionnette, de la Journée mondiale du théâtre pour les enfants et les jeunes et de la Journée mondiale du théâtre, de la manière la plus ludique - avec les bébés et les tout-petits. Ensuite, pendant le long week-end de Pâques, DiSCoVeR accueillera A Carousel Players Production Pop!Pop! de la région de Niagara. Il s'agit d'un spectacle qui explore un monde de marionnettes se déroulant dans un récif de corail et interagit avec des enfants d'âge préscolaire et préscolaire. Le même week-end de divertissement partagera la scène avec le théâtre de marionnettes et d'ombres, ainsi qu'un spectacle de contes intitulé Choisissez votre propre aventure de marionnettes, qui plongera les enfants de la 2e année de SK et des plus âgés dans la beauté et les possibilités du théâtre d'ombres.

 | Dear puppeteers, dear colleagues and friends! UNIMA-UKRAINE welcomes you and invites all the connoisseurs of puppetry art to join the online events offered by our centre. Since 2011, UNIMA-UKRAINE has hosted the All-Ukrainian online festival "Premieres of a season", within the framework of which all puppet theaters of Ukraine have the opportunity to submit video recordings of performances from the last season and compete for victory in the nominations "Best Performance for Children", "Best performance for teenagers and adults", "Best acting", "Best direction", "Best scenography", "Best dramaturgy" and others. We have the honour to invite to the online broadcasts of performances that were recommended by the "Premieres of a season 2023-2024" jury for presentation to the public. Broadcasts will take place every Saturday and Sunday at 18:00 (EET) from 15th of February till 23d of March. Depuis 2011, l’UNIMA-UKRAINE a accueilli le festival en ligne "Premieres d’une saison", dans le cadre duquel tous les théâtres de marionnettes d’Ukraine ont la possibilité de soumettre des enregistrements vidéo des performances de la dernière saison et de concourir pour la victoire dans les nominations "Meilleure performance pour les enfants", "Meilleure performance pour les adolescents et les adultes", "Meilleur jeu d’acteur", "Meilleure mise en scène", "Meilleure scénographie", "Meilleure dramaturgie" et autres.
Nous avons l’honneur d’inviter aux diffusions en ligne des performances qui ont été recommandées par le jury "Premières d’une saison 2023-2024" pour présentation au public. Les émissions auront lieu tous les samedis et dimanches à 18h00 (EET) du 15 février au 23 mars.
La diffusion du spectacle aura lieu sur le canal YouTube de l’UNIMA-UKRAINE (lien d’accès https://www.youtube.com/@unimaukraine5755).
